MARDAN, Jan 20: Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Ijaz Afzal Khan has said that it was collective responsibility of people and courts to remove hurdles in provision of justice to common man.
He was speaking to participants of a public awareness workshop on ‘Consumers Protection Act, 1997’, which was organised by district judiciary here on Thursday.
Political leaders, lawyers, educationists, doctors, police officials, traders and members of social welfare organisations attended the workshop.
He said that people should demonstrate strong will while struggling for a noble cause. He vowed that in case of complaints action would be taken against judges taking bribe.
Earlier, the chief justice inaugurated the consumer court, which would be supervised by the district and secession judge. People of Mardan have, meanwhile, welcomed the establishment of the consumer court, hoping that it would play a key role in checking production of fake medicines, beverages and other prohibited business activities in the district.
