LAHORE, Jan 22: Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and PHF Academy qualified for the final of the National Tray hockey championship after winning their respective pre-finals at the Faisalabad Hockey Stadium on Saturday.

The airmen defeated Punjab 3-2 after a tough semi-final.

Both sides were locked at 1-1 at the end of first half.

Mohammad Khaliq (18th minute), Zeeshan (50th min) and Mushtaq (66th) were the scorers for the winners.

Khaliq cashed in on a field attempt while Zeeshan and Mushtaq converted penalty-corners.

For Punjab, Rana Asad and Dilber were the scorers.

PHF Academy fought hard to beat Customs 4-3 on penalty-strokes after their semi-final ended in 1-1 draw, even after extra time.

The goals were scored by Dawood of Academy and Ghulam Abbas of Customs.
