KARACHI: Former Pakistan No 1 Khurram Agha captured Sindh Snooker Cup after outplaying contemporary and former national champion Naveen Perwani 5-0 in the final at the Snooker Zone on Sunday.

The former Asian No 3 was outstanding in potting and cue control and made a short work of his seasoned opponent and won 72-46, 79-37, 59-2, 62-2, 61-19 in little over two hours.

Naveen, who was stretched to limits before returning home against veteran Mohammad Yousuf 5-4 in the semi-final on Saturday, was completely off-colour and virtually surrendered the battle.

Khurram, who had represented the country at the Guangzhou Asian Games last year, seems to have regained his true form as he had beaten reigning Pakistan No 1 Imran Shahzad 6-5 in the final to win the Latif Masters’ non-ranking title at the Karachi Club in December.

The eventual champion earned a winning purse of Rs30,000 and a cue while the runner-up got Rs18,000. The losing semi-finalists were rewarded Rs8,000 apiece. The event carried total prize money of Rs79,000.
