ABBOTTABAD, Jan 28: Eight people, including three children, were killed and 33 others injured when a passenger bus fell into a deep ravine here on Friday.

Eyewitnesses and police said that the ill-fated bus was going from Abbottabad to Sherwan when it skidded off the road and plunged into a ravine near Gramrhi village. , while 33 others suffered injured.

Locals rushed to the spot soon after the accident and retrieved the dead and injured from the ravine after hectic efforts.

They said that 28 injured, who were stated to be in critical condition, were shifted to the Ayub Medical Complex, while the rest were taken to Benazir Shaheed Hospital, formerly district headquarters hospital, Abbottabad.

The victims were identified as driver Banaras, Ali Zaman and his two minor grandsons and Syed Laal Shah, while the three other victims could not be identified. The police have registered a case and are investigating. — Correspondent
