WASHINGTON: The White House said on Monday that changes in the Egyptian cabinet were not enough to meet the demands of the people calling for an end to the current system of governance in Egypt.

“This is not about appointments, this is about actions,” White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs told a briefing in Washington when asked to explain the US demand for an orderly transition in Egypt.

“It is obvious that more works need to be done. It is obvious in the pictures that we see out of Egypt,” he said.

“I do believe an orderly transition means change. I do believe that Egypt the way it looks and operates must change.
