HARIPUR, Feb 2: Speakers at a conference held here on Wednesday criticised the doctors of local government hospitals for poor health service delivery and blamed them for death of several patients brought for emergency treatment. The conference was held at the residence of PPP MPA Dr Faiza Rasheed and participated by the district leaders of PML-N, PPP, JUI-F, JI, PTI and some other parties.

Dr Faiza said that majority of the doctors doing night duty and the specialists on call at District Headquarters Hospital and Women and Children Hospital were not properly performing their duties.

She said that patients brought for emergency treatment were referred to the government hospitals of Abbottabad though both the local hospitals were equipped with all the treatment facilities.

She said that over 97 per cent emergency cases were referred to Ayub Teaching Hospital or other hospitals of Abbottabad because the doctors on call avoid visiting hospital for attending to emergency cases.
