LAHORE, Feb 6: PPP ministers in the Punjab cabinet will stage a sit-in outside the Punjab Assembly building here on Tuesday (tomorrow) if the chief of PML-N, senior coalition partner in the province, does not respond to the 19-point PPP agenda for good governance.

Senior Minister Raja Riaz made the announcement during a talk with the media here on Sunday. Criticising the PML-N, he said: “The PPP is the junior coalition partner in the provincial government but the chief minister does not take them into confidence on important issues.”

Raja Riaz said the party had decided to record its protest in case of failure of the PML-N in implementing the PPP’s recommendations as Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan asked its ministers to better stage a sit-in in front of the residences of their central leadership, which did not yet approve the 19-point agenda.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, he asserted that it would have been better if the provincial PPP leaders had persuaded its central leadership before putting forward the agenda.

He said the PPP elders were keeping a mum on the 19 points which was a candid proof of the fact that Raja Riaz did not consult anyone in this regard.

“Even the PPP top guns are unaware of the agenda tabled by the Punjab chapter.” — Staff Reporter
