LAHORE: The Lahore High Court granted bail to former SHO Sadar Sialkot, Rana Ilyas, who was one of the accused in Sialkot lynching case here Tuesday.

The division bench of the Lahore High Court headed by the Chief Justice, Ijaz Chaudhry heard the bail plea. The CJ LHC said that the prosecution’s failure to produce evidence against the accused prompted the grant.

Ilyas was arrested five months ago as central accused in the Sialkot lynching case of two brothers Muneeb and Mughees.
