PESHAWAR: The Institute of Chemical Sciences (ICS) is celebrating the International Year of Chemistry (IYC) 2011 on March 9.

Different programs, including popular lectures, exhibitions, seminars, symposia and workshops are planned for the IYC 2011.

The chemistry model exhibition held on Feb 9, 2011 was a great success. More than 40 models from 25 institutions, colleges and schools were displayed in this exhibition.

Under IYC 2011 the next program will be a research based poster competitive exhibition on 9 March 2011.

Research scholars of the public sector universities from the greater campus of the University of Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been invited to participate in this exhibition.

This activity is mainly aimed to encourage M.Phil and Ph.D scholars to have a chance to present their research projects, data progress made and future prospective of their research.

It will be helpful for the scholars in terms of developing their posters based skills for future participation in the national and international conferences, workshops and symposia.

A panel of proficient researchers will scrutinize and evaluate the best posters presenters displayed in the exhibition. In order to encourage research culture, top three poster and presenters will be awarded.
