Subh-e-Nau tennis

ISLAMABAD, Feb 19: The ninth Subh-e-Nau National tennis championship started at the Pakistan Tennis Federation Complex on Saturday. In the boys’ U-18 category, Faizan Khurram, Haseeb Yaqoob, Syed Zohair Raza and Mohammad Abid cruised to the next round while in boys’ U-14 event Mohammad Muzammil and Afnan Hassan won their respective matches.

Results: Boys’ U-18:

First round: Hassan Tariq bt Ali Murad 6-1, 6-4; Sajid Ali bt Ahsan Raza 6-1, 6-2; Amanwal Anwar bt Arbaz Qazi 6-1, 6-1; Usman Rafique walkover Umer Tayyab; Asjad Aitezaz bt M. Muzammil 6-0, 6-2; Saad Zafar bt Azhar Qadir 6-1, 6-2; Ahmed Chaudhry bt M. Mudassir 6-1, 6-0; Faizan Khurram bt Umair Khan 6-0, 6-0; Haseeb Yaqoob bt Talal Almas 2-6, 6-2, 6-4; Kashan-ul-Haq bt Syed Nofel Kaleem 6-0, 6-2; Zohair Raza bt Farhan Ali 6-0, 6-0; Arham Atique bt Ayaz Qazi 6-3, 6-4; Mohammad Abid bt Hassan Abbas 6-0, 6-0.

Boys’ U-14:

First round: Mohammad Muzammil bt Hasanin Amjad 4-6, 6-4, 6-4; Afnan Hassan bt Haris Irfan-ul-Haq 6-2, 6-3.
