LAHORE: The Punjab government on Saturday decided to dissolve the provincial cabinet, DawnNews reported.

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif was likely to send a summary to Governor Punjab Latif Khosa in this regard.

The decision to dissolve the cabinet was taken in a meeting presided by Shahbaz Sharif at the Chief Minister's residence.

The Punjab cabinet currently has seven ministers from the Pakistan People's Party (PPP).

Sources said the Unification Bloc was likely to get two ministries in the new provincial cabinet.

Saturday's decision came a day after Pakistan’s most famous political marriage of convenience ended in a divorce as Nawaz Sharif signalled the ouster of the PPP from the PML-N’s Punjab government.
