A rare hailstorm struck Lahore at 4.45pm on Saturday, concentrating its intensity downtown and in areas around Gulberg. Hailstones the size of small strawberries soon carpeted streets and rooftops. People were left stunned watching the freak turn of weather. At a few places, some people panicked and started giving “azans”. – Photos by Online and PPI

29: The Spider
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
And unto Midian We sent Shu'eyb, their brother. He said: O my people! Serve Allah, and look forward to the Last Day, and do not evil, making mischief, in the earth. (36) But they denied him, and the dreadful earthquake took them, and morning found them prostrate in their dwelling place. (37)

A rare phenomenon, that has left me perplexed in Karachi and at the same time scared. This is an alarming bell from mother nature telling us that we are heading towards climate changes because of human created environmental damages.

I find the people giving out Azans funny.................. so Lahori ............ so naive........... There is nothing to worry about ............. this happens in many places in the world....... you are lucky the hailstones were not so big , otherwise, they can cause some real damage....... I am sure it was fun and nice to have this hailstorm..........

It is strange that we are living in an epoch of tremendous scientific knowledge contrasted by a mindbogling tempest of superstitions. This needs to be understood by all of us.

Exactly! This is an other sign of the rapid changing climate around the globe.Pakistan, Colombia, and Australia and so on. Profound earth-changes have already devastated the planet and even more catastrophic change is yet to come.

Did anyone notice the living conditions of the people in the pictures? so sad to see that people don't even have decent shelter. Nither the government nor the well to do care. Call as many azans as you may. Allah does not help those who do not change their ways. May Allah help those in despair.

Nothing short of a shock when I saw the pics. Very common in other parts of the world, not in Lahore especially in Feb. Pakistan is not the only country abnormal weather patterns. Reminds me of the movie, day after tomorrow
