SUKKUR, Feb 28: In a bid to clarify his position, former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, is on a campaign of Sindh with the determination to prove that he still is as loyal to the PPP.

However, he did not hesitate in telling that he became a victim of revenge when he spoke truth about Pakistans sovereignty in Raymond Davis case.

He praised the PML-N and Nawaz Sharif for their untiring efforts in the restoration of democracy and also thanked Pir Pagara for saying good words for him.

He said this at the residence of Pir Syed Kazim Ali Shah Lakhiyari in Hingorja on Monday on the second day of his visit to Sindh.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi blamed the people who began their career from the era of Pervez Musharraf of smearing him through a vilification campaign. He categorically denied of forming any party within the PPP.

“I'm here only to clarify the propaganda being run against me by those who themselves are not big shots but try to pose one.”

Shah Mehmood Qureshi, also a spiritual leader of Ghuasia Jammat, was perturbed over negative campaign which was creating unrest among his followers and which necessitated him to visit the province.

“A large number of posters and banners are posted in Karachi and Chhachhro only to malign me and I've advised my followers to stay calm and avoid all sorts of confrontations against this campaign,” he said.

He questioned as to why people were challenging his allegiance as his son Zain's injury on the arrival of Benazir Bhutto was itself a proof against all proofs. Our Mirpurkhas correspondent adds:

Mr Qureshi was accorded a warm welcome by a large number of people, later in the day. A large number of PPP workers and office-bearers from different areas of Sanghar and Mirpurkhas districts welcomed him in a motorcade consisting of more than 600 vehicles. People on different routes had waited for him for several hours.
