ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said on Thursday that gas loadshedding will be ceased from all over the country from March 15, DawnNews reported.
Speaking to a delegation of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI), Gilani said that the private sector was like a back bone of the economy of the country and pivotal for its economic growth, that was the reason why the government was putting every effort to eradicate problems faced by the sector.
The delegation assured prime minister that the business community was ready for dialogues with the government on the controversial issue of Reformed General Sales Tax (RGST.)
The gas suspension had caused 9.3 percent decline in textile productions as well, while 500,000 daily wagers were laid-off, the industry was unable to achieve $ 14 billion export target this year.
Around 40 per cent of the industrial units in Punjab run on gas and the rest on electricity. The use of furnace oil or diesel in place of gas had pushed up the cost of production five-folds.
