RAWALPINDI, March 4: A two-member team of capital police on Friday quizzed Mumtaz Qadri, killer of Governor Salman Taseer, regarding the murder of Federal Minister for Minorities' Affairs Shabaz Bhatti as both the incidents had identical circumstances.

The two-member team comprising CID Superintendent of Police Gulfam Nasir and SHO Industrial Area police Mehboob Ahmed visited the jail where they questioned Mumtaz Qadri.

Earlier, the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) allowed the Islamabad police to quiz Mumtaz Qadri in the murder case of Federal Minister for Minorities' Affairs Shahbaz Bhatti.

ATC-II Judge Raja Ikhlaq Hussain accepted the application filed by the SHO Industrial Area police and allowed them to question Qadri in Adiala Jail.

According to the court staff, the police maintained before the ATC that the circumstances were identical that led to the murder of Governor Taseer first and to the killing of Shahbaz Bhatti later.

The police said they needed to question Qadri to get closer to the possible killers of the minister.
