KARACHI, March 14: Mauripur Baloch and Baloch Mujahid proceeded to the semi-finals of the 8th Karachi Football League-2011 after beating their respective opponents in the quarter-finals at the Baloch Mujahid Stadium here on Sunday.

Mauripur Baloch edged out defending champions Chanesar Blue 2-1 in the first quarter-final. The goals for the winners were scored by Adnan Sakhi (34th min) and Samad Jahangir (69th min) while Mahmood Lasi (89th min) reduced the margin for the losing side. Samad Jahangir was named the Man of the Match.

The other quarter-final between Baloch Mujahid and Shahzad Mohammadan was won by the former on penalty kicks after the score remained deadlocked at 2-2 during regulation time and 3-3 during extra time.

All the three goals for Baloch Mujahid scored during regular and extra time came through Mohammad Hanif in the 64th, 70th and 108th minutes. For Shahzad Mohammadan, Mohammad Baloch (39th min) and Mohammad Younus (76th and 119th mins). Later, Baloch Mujahid utilised all of the penalty kicks given to them while Peer Mohammad missed one for Shahzad Mohammadan. Mohammad Hanif was declared the Man of the Match.
