ISLAMABAD, March 21: The ambassador of Saudi Arabia here on Monday denied any role of his country in the release of Raymond Davis.

Abdul Aziz bin Ibrahim Al-Ghadeer said his country had no role in the release of the US spy who killed two Pakistanis, adding all such news published or broadcasted by the media were concocted, fabricated and baseless.

He expressed these views while talking to former information minister and chief of Muttahida Mahaz, Bahawalpur, Senator Mohammad Ali Durrani, who called on the ambassador here to express gratitude for Saudi Arabia's support for the flood-affected people of Pakistan.

The ambassador said King Abdullah had keen interest in the welfare of the people of Pakistan.
