The 71st National Day of Pakistan was celebrated with traditional patriotic zeal and fervor. It was on this historic day in 1940 that Muslims of South Asia gathered at Lahore under the leadership of Jinnah and resolved to have an independent state of their own which was carved out into a reality in the shape of Pakistan only after seven years.
