LAHORE: Punjab defeated Sindh 3-1 on the opening day of the 46th National volleyball championship at the Wapda Sports Complex here on Friday.

The winners only lost the second set to complete the win with the score being 25-17, 18-25, 25-14, 25-16.

Police had an easy victory against the Higher Education Commission (HEC) 25-13, 25-14, 25-12.

Police's most outstanding players were Nasir Khan and Kashif Mansoor while Yasir and Sikandar Shah shone for the HEC.

KP carved out 3-0 win against Fata with the score of 25-17, 25-19, 25-17.

Their main players were Mohammad Adnan, Abidullah and Asif Khan.

Fata's leading player was Sherpao.

Railway recorded 3-1 win against Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

The score was 25-22, 24-26, 25-21 and 25-13.

Army had easy sailing against Balochistan, completing the win with 25-15, 25-17, 25-13.

Saturday's fixture: Navy v Fata; Army v Sindh; PAF v HEC; Wapda v AJK; Punjab v Balochistan.
