RAWALPINDI: During Saturday's hearing of the Benazir Bhutto murder case, the Anti-Terrorist Court (ATC) ordered the investigating team to contact Interpol in order to bring former president Pervez Musharraf back to Pakistan, DawnNews reported.

Saturday’s hearing was conducted in the court of ATC judge Rana Nisar Ahmed.

During the proceeding, the investigation team told the court that a request had been filed with the interior ministry to bring the former president back to the country.

However, no progress had been made in that regard, the court was informed.

The hearing was subsequently adjourned to April 2.

Benazir Bhutto was assassinated three years ago in a gun and suicide attack after addressing an election campaign rally in Rawalpindi, on December 27, 2007.

In April 2010, a UN panel accused the government of failing to provide Benazir with adequate protection and said investigations were hampered by intelligence agencies and other officials who impeded “an unfettered search for the truth”.
