LAHORE: A straight-sets win over Army helped Wapda set up a semi-final clash with Pakistan Air Force in the National Volleyball Championship on Tuesday.

Wapda cruised to a 25-23, 25-13, 27-26 win over Pakistan Army, who, despite the loss, Army also made it to the semi-finals, on the basis of their position on the points table.

Meanwhile, Navy were stretched to the limits by Pakistan Air Force in the last quarterfinal of the tournament. Navy won the match in five sets (25-23,22-25, 25-19, 21-25, 15-13). PAF, who had already qualified for the semi-finals, put up resolute fight before bowing down to the persistent pressure mounted by Navy.

Meanwhile, Punjab beat Railway 25-18, 17-25, 17-25, 2-18, 25-23 in a match that had no impact on the semi-final line-ups and Police outclassed KPK 25-20, 25-13, 25-20.
