CHITRAL, March 31: District coordination officer Rahmatullah Wazir has asked the residents of Beori valley to extend full cooperation to the local administration to thwart any attempt by saboteurs to penetrate into the valley. Speaking to a group of people at Beori village on Thursday, the DCO said that the district border force had been modernised to put an effective check on the movement of criminals and maintain peace in the valley, but cooperation of the community for maintenance of law and order was essential.

He said that poverty reduction and prosperity was possible only in the atmosphere of peace and the prevalent atmosphere of peace must be maintained at any cost.

Mr Wazir said that the flood-hit road infrastructure and jeepable suspension bridges over the stream would be rebuilt and funds would be given to the local community to solve their problems.

He also promised provision of food packages, wheat seeds and fertilizers to the affected households for the current season. He directed the Chitral Area Development Project officials to complete work on electrification of the remote area.
