I am a big fan of Shahid Afridi & Wasim Akram. My favorite team after India is Pakistan and i always cheer for it. Believe me I also felt bad when Pakistan lost in semi final. Shahid has accepted the defeat with true sportmanship and I am a proud fan of him. He is a good leader and a man with very positive attitude. Cheers !!!

Shahid Bhai - Salute from an Indian. I like the fact that you are aggressive and you have led the team. Losing and winning is a part of the deal - but I salute how you built this team from scratch.
It was good to see you ( FINALLY) taking Sachin's catch ! I dont think you need to apologize to your country men - they should be proud of you , just like I am as an Indian.
I hope the politics get better - and you play for us in IPL.

Pakistanis were graceful on the field and off the field too, particularly the Captain Shahid Afridi. They could have easily won the game, had they latched on to their catches and did decent fielding. Bowling was fantastic, as always been.
Better luck next time.....

No sorry my hero
Kudos Pakistan for emerging from nowhere in the world cup to end Australian winning streak and reach semi-final. One team has to loose in the game of two. India played better on the day and won. Let alone Misbahul Haq’s selfish venture in semi final You don’t have to say sorry Shahid Afridi as you lead a written off team in a manner it became favorites for the world cup. The nation must salute captain who picked a team burnt out by spot fixing scandal to become a shining star of the world cup. We did not win the world cup but you led us in a manner that we became serious contender as champion. Keep it up.

Well done Pakistan team. You played well and showed a great improvement. Those people, who criticise one or the other member of the team, fail to appreciate the basics of crickets.
It is apparent to every body that there was a team think-tank that devised a strategy and all the players stuck to the tasks given to them. Misbah and Younis were by the look of it given the job to look after the castle while young guns were allowed to fire away. They all did well.
Misbah especially kept the guard on up to the time all guns did their best then he started to fire himself. Well done all of you.
I think the coach, the manager and the captain deserve a lot of credit.

Many an Indian , nay sports lovers , will be pleased with the way Shahid Afridi played , led and spoke during the World Cup - he led a team which was always considered " a team with exceptional induvidual talent " but poor team work & cohesion - He was able to knit them together and led from the front with good bowling performance - Aggressive , but at the same time diplomatic , Afridi' comments post Semi - final showed a great day of maturity - It is a pity one team has to lose - wish Afridi and Pakistanis all teh very best for teh future

I am not much of a cricket watcher. But watch matches once in a while..specially look forward to the india pak matches. I feel very happy to see Pakistani cricket team showing affection and respect for the indian team, unlike previous occasions when we would see shohaib akhtar showing the way out to indian batsmen after bowling them out. At that time I used to say that why should India Pak play matches when there is no respect but hate for the other team. But seems like those days are a thing of the past, and a new era has begun. Lets keep the same attitude, and great things are possible when people think positively.

Shahid bhai kept cool even after losing & appreciated the indian team & nation, whereas dhoni didnt even speak a single word of sympathy for pakistan. This shows the difference in both captains. Dhoni is just a lucky captain wherein his luck favours him all the time, individually his performance is so so. Specially the substandard indian media hypes & makes issue of every single thing by shouting & screaming just for channel rating without thinking their comments can hurt any body.

The two captains have some special gifts from god, but the way Dhoni tackled the pressure was remarkable. The pressure upon Dhoni was ten times more than Afridi as he was playing at home and even before this tournament Indian media has projected India as the favorites. He rotated his bowlers very effectively and did not crumbled in this high voltage match ( as Afridi did ) should be praised.

Being a great fan of Cricket and being on the other side of the border even I wanted team India to win.
But I must also congratulate Pakistan's Cricket team and one of my favourite player SHAHID AFRIDI fro putting up a thrilling game which was enjoyed by all. Any match will have 2 possible outcomes and the team which performs in all the 3 fields - batting, bowling and fielding wins. Afridi the way you have brought the team together and the way the boys performed is commendable.
Wish you and your team Luck in coming future and once again thanks for putting a great show.
You are a true SPORTSMAN.

Pakistan may have lost the match but their team certainly won me over. I had not watched Shahid Afridi speak before and had formed a certain negative opinion of him based on media reporting. I have to say he is a very respectable man. He handled the loss very well and showed great maturity in the post match interview. I am his fan now. It is a shame that there is no cricketing relationship between our two countries and that none of the Pakistani cricketers are in the IPL. They are wonderfully gifted and a joy to watch. Indiscipline is their downfall.
Having said that, to play in India in front of the partisan crowd, it is very hard on the young and inexperienced members. Afridi's post match conduct was so good that I thought, should Pakistan have won this match and I would not have minded.
I have been to Pakistan before all these terrible things are happening there, and all I had felt from the people there was genuine affection. And I share the same sort of respect and affection for the common folk from there.
I wish the best of luck for them. Thanks for a wonderful match.

It was great to see your sportsmanship during the Indo-Pak game. Also your appreciation of the India's efforts in the post match interview was laudable. That shows how true sportsman you are. Although I was an Indian supporting India all through the game, in the end I felt Pakistan played wonderfully all through the tournament.
Hats of to your team.
I always admired the talent of Pakistani cricketers starting from Imran bhai, Javed bhai, Wasim bhai all of them cricketing greats.
Well done. Good luck for the future of Pakistani Cricket, I wish to see ICC Cricket matches starting soon in the Pakistani soil.

TO THE WHOLE TEAM
Pakistan is proud of you for many reasons. Managing a team after dealing with so many problems domestically and internationally, fighting till the last ball with courage, reaching the semi-finals, winning against teams declared as champions like Australia and above all breaking Australia's record of continuous victory are the things, nation is proud of.
There were some flaws which I am sure shall be removed by the next world cup.
Our team consists of fighters who fought with courage under the captaincy of a man who is an excellent leader. His acceptance of the results (not defeat) with such a maturity and sportsman spirit deserves a salute from whole nation.
Bundle of prayers for this wonderful team.
May ALLAH bless you all and may you all succeed in future.

Excellent cricket by Pakistan team and they shouldn't loose this momentum for upcoming matches.
Pakistan batting and fielding has always been problematic.
We need good quality ground in our cities and villages where kids don't hesitate diving, jumping etc. in an effort to take catches or stop the ball.
Similarly, to improve batting professional attitude matters a lot, less emotions more professionalism and practice.

There is a great parallelism between Pakistan’s 1979 World Cup Semi Final game against West Indies and the 2011 Semi-Final against India.
1. Misbah played the same role in terms of wasting overs what Haroon Rashid did in that game.
2. The ace batsman Wasim Raja was dropped who had performed tremendously against West Indies & Shoaib Akhter was dropped from this game, who is an ace fast bowler & has performed very well against India.
3. Needles, to say Pakistan lost both games.
Go & Figure it Out!

Media is always like that. Looking to create sensation. It became more capitalistic nowadays. Its just for momentary satisfaction. It wont linger long in people' mind. I also watched all the hype leading up to the India vs pakistan game.
But what occupies the mind now(even after two days) is how the players conducted themselves on the field and how your captain moist our eyes and won our hearts. So that is the paramount.
Pakistanis had just one bad day and just lost the match. But won many many hearts.

I am an India fan, so it's natural that I am delighted at India's win at Mohali. But trust me, this new Pakistan team under the leadership of Shahid Afridi has shown tremendous character & spirit in their run up to the WC semi-finals. Seeing the Pakistan team at practice and training drills before the WC semi-final at Mohali shows how a good leader with the right mindset can inspire a team and its massive fan following. Shahid Afridi is just the right man for the job and the maturity which he displayed in dealing with the "never before seen hype and anticipation" was definitely a clincher. I had always believed that a India v/s Pakistan match is always a treat for fans for the tremendous die-hard passion and efforts to win. Hopefully, it will continue to be amidst this ever increasing professional cricket tours where many matches seem like "also ran" matches. Not that I hate the invasion of professionalism into cricket but somehow, I feel the "it" element is often missing in them and that only a India v/s Pakistan match can guarantee.

I totally agree with you dear....must tell you Shahid Afridi has got so much respect in India too....he's the person who has been in and out of team, then proved himself so important, then became captain against all odds of the situation and then showed such a performance and big heart.....he's truly the most strangest Legend of Cricket, being an Indian, must tell you even if we would have lost we would have said the same thing...
Shahid Afridi,
If you read this, please keep the good work going on...must tell you have equal or more no. of fans in India ! :)
best wishes,
Abhishek.

I didnt see the match that day but was tracking the score at office. And I just saw on youtube the speeches by the captains at the end of the match. Its kinda embarrasing to see that while Afridi praised the indian team out of respect, affection and decency, the same was not reciprocated by Dhoni. I think the fault lies with Ravi Shastri because he is asking questions that drill down into the specifics of the game, and a person tends to forget about the overall picture. So, even if Dhoni missed saying something good about the pakistan team then Ravi should have asked Dhoni about what he thinks about them. Anyway. People make mistakes.
I think the love Indians have reciprocated, speaks for itself.

"Praise God" - Hats off to Afridi, who had showed great courage through out the tournament. After the match, definitely he was in terrible pain but he showed true sports man spirit to congratulate India. This shows his maturity and humility. To all dear ones in Pakistan, your team is good enough to beat any team in the world. See how bravely they had reached the semifinal, even they had to go through very tough time for the last couple of years. Even after going through such difficult times they have proved how strong they are. Under Afridi's captaincy, sure your team is gonna reach much greater hight's. Our heartfelt love and prayers to all in Pakistan. God bless!!! - Bennet, India.

There are two aspects of the semi between india n pak; one is the game itself and other sportsman spirit. To loose a match bravely and after making level best efforts should be accepted wholeheartedly and gracefully without any ifs and buts and excuses because one has to win in the competition.
On the front of sportsman spirit before, during and after the match, pak caption won the heart of billion of sub continent people. The way he praised Indian team and people on their success and wished them for next match have made us proud which none of near past captains have done as far as I remember. Pak india matches should regularly be played so as to defeat extremists of both sides.

Hey, let's take cricket as cricket, a game and nothing less nothing more. As an Indian, I am proud to see world cup won by India but I'd say that Pakistan hold good talent and was quite capable to lift the trophy. Real loser is the one who loses sportsman spirit, rest is all a game. Let's give some room to this exuberant game, out of futile allegations and implications. It will help us to enjoy the game irrespective of who win and who lose.
Peace.
