PESHAWAR: A blast in front of the police headquarters in the Rehman Baba Colony of Peshawar left SHO Sharkhi Sattar Khan and his gunman critically injured, DawnNews reported.
Police say a roadside bomb has wounded SHO Sharkhi Sattar Khan and one of his gunmen in Peshawar.
The explosion was the second in two days targeting police in Pakistan, which is battling a Taliban and al Qaeda-led insurgency.
The remote-controlled device exploded Friday morning near the vehicle in which SHO Sharkhi Sattar Khan was patrolling the area. Police official Shafi Ullah says the victims were taken to the Lady Reading Hospital.
On Thursday, a suicide car bomber in the southwest city of Quetta attacked a senior police official's house, killing a guard and wounding several people including the official. The Pakistani Taliban claimed responsibility for that attack.
