DADU, Oct 15: At least 37 government officials have been booked for corruption and cases have been registered against 10 revenue officers, seven police, seven food, five market committee, and eight education officials of Dadu district.
This was disclosed at a meeting of the Anti-Corruption Committee-II held here on Tuesday.
DCO Abdul Razzaq Abbasi presided over the meeting.
The deputy director of Anti-Corruption Establishment, Dadu, produced the records of corrupt government officials in the meeting.
The corruption cases were registered against ex-Mukhtiarkar (Dadu) Mohammad Ismail Rajput, ex-assistant Mukhtiarkar Gul Muhammad Soomro, Tapedars Pir Aijaz, Punhoon Khan, Ghulam Mustafa Rind, Moosa Solangi, Ghulam Rasool Narejo, Nooruddin, Ashraf Laghari, and Alamdin Babar for falsely changing the land records.
The cases were also registered against a former head clerk of the DPO office, Dadu, Sultan Abro, Aijaz, ASI Rasool Bukhsh Bhutto, Head Constable Ali Sher Leghari, Sub-Inspector Akbar Panhwar, ASI Mohammad Waris Gadhi and Constable Shabbir Junejo.
Following the approval of the ACC-II, the Anti-Corruption Establishment registered FIRs against education officials, including four Taluka teachers, Khalid Laghari, Sanaullah Laghari, Shahid Laghari, Basheer Buriro, HST Sikandar Chandio, the head clerk of the SDEO office, Dadu, Manzoor Shahani, and two clerks, Nazeer and Hafiz Soomro, on various charges.
AUQAF MINISTER: The provincial minister for Auqaf, Pir Mian Abdul Baki, has said that some candidates were blaming the winners while the fact was that the people did not cast votes in their favour.
He was addressing a gathering at the residence of Syed Mohammad Shah in Mehar on Tuesday.
He said that the government had not supported any candidate and the elections were held freely and fairly.
He said that President Pervez Musharraf had fulfilled his promise of holding the election.
He announced Rs400,000 as a grant for the Jamia Mosque, Mehar town, for carrying out repair works.
KILLED: A villager, Haji Akaloo (25), was shot dead by two of his rivals in the Upper Rahooja village, Khairpur Nathan Shah Taluka, on Monday night.
The Khairpur Nathan Shah police have registered a case against two accused, Hassan Chandio and Mithoo Chandio.
SUICIDE: A man, Khadim Agro (20), committed suicide by hanging himself in the Mehrab Lakhair village, Mehar Taluka, on Monday night.
