QUETTA: Religious leader Maulana Abdul Kabir Qadri Qambrani and a student of his seminary were killed and his son and another student were injured in an attack in the Sariab Road area on Thursday night.

According to police, the assailants who were on a motorbike opened fire on them near the Bibi Nani Shrine.

Maulana Qambrani and the student, Dur Khan, were killed. Hospital sources said the condition of his injured son, Aminullah Qadri, and student Shamsuddin was critical.

The maulana belonged to Ahl-i-Sunnat Wal Jamaat and the seminary is in Killi Qambrani near the provincial capital.
