ISLAMABAD, Oct 16: President Pervez Musharraf on Wednesday promulgated the Ordinance for the establishment of Riphah International University at Islamabad.

The university will have six faculties —- faculty of health and medical sciences, engineering and applied sciences, computer sciences and information technology, management sciences, pharmaceutical sciences and social sciences.

The university will be a corporate body by the name of Riphah International University and will provide instructions and training with provisions for research, demonstration, advancement and dissemination of knowled-ge.

The university will have the power to decide teaching methods and strategies to ensure the most effective educational and training programmes. The university will affiliate or associate itself with other institutions and establish faculties in Pakistan and abroad for the discharge of its functions and responsibilities.
