KOHAT, April 17: The bullet-riddled body of a businessman from Rawalpindi, who had gone to Hangu to get back money from a borrower, was found in Ghulam Banda here, police said on Sunday.

A police official said that they had found the body of an unidentified man three days back. It was sent for postmortem to the Women and Children Hospital where it was kept for two days.

Later, relatives of the slain businessman, Nazeer Ahmed, came to Kohat and told police that he had gone to Hangu to demand money from a borrower. But, they said, he was killed by some unknown men and added that they were unware about the names of the borrowers. Later, the relatives took the body to Rawalpindi.

The city police registered have a murder case against unknown killers and started investigation. The police said that the victim had apparently been killed by the people who owed him money.

BROTHERS INJURED: Two brothers were shot and injured for stopping strangers from cutting trees in their ancestral forest land in Marai area adjacent to Orakzai Agency on Sunday.

The Ustarzai police station confirmed that the victims, Younis and Said Wali, were guarding their land when they saw some unknown people taking away wood from their forest. They tried to stop them but the verbal exchange turned into a brawl. The unknown tribesmen fired several shots with a pistol and injured the two brothers, the police said.

Both were shifted to the KDA Divisional Headquarter Hospital. Later, Younis was referred to Peshawar by doctors in serious condition, while Said Wali was operated upon in Kohat and a bullet was removed from one of his legs.

The Ustarzai police registered a case and told Dawn that nobody had been nominated in the FIR and the culprits escaped after committing the crime.
