GROS ISLET (St Lucia), April 21: West Indies beat Pakistan by seven runs in the one-off Twenty20 International here on Thursday.

Scores: West Indies 150 for 7; Pakistan 143 for 9.

The hosts recovered from an early setback to a total of 150 from their 20 overs thanks to a stroke-filled 65 from Lendl Simmons, who struck seven fours and two sixes from 44 deliveries. Simmons and Darren Bravo (42 off 33 balls) added 99 for the second wicket to put West Indies back on track after spinner Abdul Rehman had made the breakthrough in his first over when he trapped Andre Fletcher lbw for one.

No other batsman passed 20.—AFP
