SWABI, April 22: Five people, including PPP Chota Lahor tehsil general secretary, were killed and one person was injured in different incidents here, police said on Friday.

They said that Mohammad Zahid, the PPP activist, and his son Ahmad were on their way home late on Thursday night when unknown criminals opened fire on their car near Doubian Mor. As a result, Zahid was killed on the spot and his son received bullet injuries.

Relatives and party activists said that the cause of Zahid's killing was not known, as he had no enmity with anyone.

In another incident, unknown people killed Hanif Khan of Tandkohi area and threw his body in nearby fields. Police said that Hanif became the fifth brother killed by their opponents. An official said that the deceased was having land disputes with many people.

In Maneria Bala, one Gul Naras Khan was shot dead by his opponents. Police have registered an FIR against Qamash Khan and his brothers. In Yaqubi area, old enmity claimed the life of one Ishaq Ali and according to police an FIR had been registered against Tufail, Ayaz and Sohail of the same area.

In yet another incident, one Waris Khan was killed on Friday when he was hit by a speeding motorcycle on Swabi-Jahangira road in Chota Lahor.

HOUSE CENSUS:

Officials supervising the house census have asked the subordinate staff to submit their completed reports till Saturday, sources told this correspondent on Friday.

“The staff has to finish their work till Saturday (today) and nothing will be left to the following day, which is a holiday,” they said and added that completed census reports would be then hand over to the district officials as soon as possible.
