KARACHI: Pakistan’s Muhammad Sajjad got off to an impressive start on the opening day of the 27th Asian Snooker Championship, defeating Ahmed Hassan Hadi of Iraq 4-1 in Indore, India, on Saturday, according to a statement by the Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association.
The 26-year-old from Sargodha, a two-time National Champion, dropped the third frame before carving out an easy win. After smart potting in the first frame, he compiled a superb break of 90 to show his class.
He raced to a 62-28, 91-0, 69-80, 72-12, 73-13 victory.
It is worth a mention here that Sajjad put up a brilliant display at the same event last year only to falter in the final against Issara Kachiwong of the then hosts Thailand.
