RAMADI: Seven Pakistanis were killed and 19 others were injured when a bus they were travelling in through west Iraq overturned, a doctor said.
“Seven Pakistanis were killed when their bus flipped over on the road from Amman to Baghdad,” said Iyad Arak, director of the main hospital in Ramadi, the capital of western Anbar province.
Arak said 19 others, all Pakistanis, were hurt in the accident, which occurred around 260 kilometres (160 miles) west of Baghdad. He added that the casualties were possibly migrant workers.
Police from Ramadi heading to the scene of the crash were attacked by insurgents, leaving four policemen wounded, said a police lieutenant in Ramadi, speaking on condition of anonymity. The insurgents managed to flee the scene.
