Gen Franks calls on Musharraf

ISLAMABAD, Oct 18: Commander-in-chief of United States central command, Gen Tommy R. Franks, who arrived here on Thursday to witness Pakistan-US army exercises, paid a courtesy call on President Gen Pervez Musharraf at the Aiwan-i-Sadr on Friday.

They exchanged views on matters of mutual and professional interest.

Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Chairman Gen Mohammad Aziz Khan, US Ambassador Nancy Powell, members of the delegation and other officials were present. The 16-day joint exercises are under way.—APP
