KARACHI, May 29: Aun Ahmed earned a berth in the juniors’ under-17 singles main draw by getting the better of Ahmed Hasan in the final qualifying round of the IC Talent Series ranking tennis championship at the Union Club on Sunday.He recovered from a set down to register a 4-6, 6-4, 10-7 victory.

The winner of Nazif Ahmed-Azhar Abdul Qadir clash will complete the main draw’s line-up.

Meanwhile, Dawar Rehan also qualified for the boys’ and girls’ under-15 singles main round notching up comfortable 6-2, 6-3 victory over Saeed Hussain in the final qualifiers.

Results: Juniors’ under-17 singles: Qualifying round two: Nazif Ahmed bt Neha Khan 6-1, 6-1; Ahmed Hasan bt Taha Bandeali — walkover. Final qualifying round: Aun Ahmed bt Ahmed Hasan 4-6, 6-4, 10-7.

Boys and girls under-15 singles: Qualifying round one: Emad Najam bt Hasan Hameed 6-2, 6-4.

Qualifying round two: Aun Ahmed bt Farzan Azhar — walkover. Final qualifying round: Dawar Rehan bt Saeed Hussain 6-2, 6-3.

Monday’s fixtures: Qualifying rounds matches start at 9:00am.
