QUETTA, June 4: Hashim Khan Kakar, a judge of the Balochistan High Court and head of the tribunal investigating the killing of five foreigners by security forces last month, disallowed on Saturday a request by the Advocate-General Balochistan that the proceedings of the Kharootabad incident should be held in camera.
Two men and three women were killed at the Frontier Corps check-post in Kharootabad on May 17 on suspicion of being suicide bombers.
Advocate-General Amanullah Kanrani asked the tribunal that since the matter was sensitive, therefore it would be appropriate to hold proceedings in camera.
Justice Kakar, however, said that for the general public to believe its finding the process should be open and transparent.
The tribunal recorded statements of Amanullah Shahdazai, a columnist; Ata Muhammad, van driver; SHO Fazalur Rehman; ASIs Reza Khan and Mitah Khan; police controller Nadeem and Yasir Arafat of the bomb disposal squad.
The proceedings were adjourned till Monday.
