NAWABSHAH, Oct 25: There is no lady doctor and trained nurse at the rural health unit (RHC) in Bandhi town as a result of which two women have lost their lives in the past few days.
Bandhi town, with a population of over 50,000, is some 40 kilometres away from Nawabshah.
The wives of Mithal Machhi and Akbar Solangi had died recently, this correspondent learnt.
Patients interviewed at the RHC said that they were facing serious problems because of improper hygiene and non-supply of medicine.
They said that no lady doctor had been appointed at the RHC since the previous lady doctor got herself transferred a few months ago to more lucrative area, besides she never attended the clinic as long as she was here.
They also said that the nurse, who had been appointed at the Rural Health Centre, was hardly seen at the centre.
Sources maintained that the nurse appointed here was performing her duties somewhere in Sakrand.
The incharge of the RHC Bandhi, Dr Ali Gohar, said that the centre had been without a lady doctor and nurse despite repeated reports to the EDO, health.
BREACH: The 40-foot-wide breach in Setharki Branch of Sadah Wah at Panj Chak near Daur, affected properties and crops the other day.
Residents rushed to plug the breach while the irrigation officials also arrived at the scene after some time.
