Muhammad Ayub, along with a group of volunteers, organises lessons and teaches children aged between 4-15 years old at a park in Islamabad. All of the children come from poor families. Ayub has been working for children’s education for the past 26 years.
The overall adult literacy rate in Pakistan is 57 per cent, still far away from meeting the Millennium Development Goal target of 88 per cent which is due in three years. – Photos by AFP

Dear Dawn,
Thanks for putting this media gallery of Mohammad Ayub. This man is a saint.
I would love to do this. Please include more of these stories in your newspaper.
Let us hope we inspire from this story.

Well done, sir. Is there any way someone like me sponsor notebooks and pens to given free to the children in your class? Would DAWN accept money, arrange to buy and send these writing materials to Mr. Ayub?

Muhammad Ayub like people are real heroes of the nation and there'r many people in pakistan who are doing such a great things but news media don't give them coverage and governements don't help them and other public don't give them status and respect that these heroes deserve. Muhammad Ayub is one of the country leaders that Quid-e-Azam desired for the future of Pakistan.

Great Job, the toil of such work is indeed fruitful. The link on the top of this page takes me to an article published in January 2011, where in Mr. Ayub needs around PK RS150,000(US$1,900) for a school with a roof for these children's.
Please advice how much money is still required ? and I shall see this school to be functional ASAP.
Best Regards,
Imran Tariq

People like Mohammad Ayub are the true Heros of our Nation. Can i please have contact information of him so i can donate money for this good cause. Sometime many of us take education for granted and when i read and see articles for the poor children of my nation it really makes me stop and think i should be sharing my knowledge and wealth with them which Allah has given me and its also their right to have it. May Allah bless my Pakistan with more heros like Mohammad Ayub and Edhi.

Salute of his courage and the great work. I wish he was allowed to use one of the beautifully built mosques found every corner of any neighborhood of Islamabad for this great cause of prophecy instead of the roofless park. Amen
