DADU: Dadu district experienced the hottest day of the season on Sunday with mercury rising to 51 degrees Celsius. Three people died and 24 others fell unconscious in different parts of the district due to the heat.

An owner of several passenger coaches, Alam Memon, said he had to take his vehicles off the highways because there were only a few passengers.

Ten people fell unconscious and had to be admitted to various private and government hospitals in Dadu town. An elderly beggar died at the new bus stand after falling unconscious.

A man, identified as Ghulam Qadir Brohi, died in Tehni village. A middle-aged beggar died in Sehwan.

Five people lost consciousness in Johi, five in Khairpur Nathan Shah and four in Mehar. They were admitted to private hospitals.

Civil Surgeon Dr Javed Ahmed Dawachh advised the people to mostly stay indoors. He said the people should consume water and cold drinks to ward off the possibility of dehydration.
