LAHORE, June 15: The Punjab government has transferred and posted seven senior police officers.

According to a notification issued on Wednesday, Headquarters Additional IG Khan Baig has been transferred and posted as Punjab Highways Patrol additional IG against an existing vacancy while Inspection and Vigilance DIG Muhammad Aslam Tareen has been transferred and posted as Headquarters DIG.

Punjab Highways Patrol DIG Sohail Khan has been transferred and posted as Punjab Operations DIG against an existing vacancy.

Punjab Traffic DIG Capt Muhammad Amin Wains (retired) has been transferred and posted as Lahore Security Division DIG against an existing vacancy.

Punjab Special Branch DIG (Security) Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan has been transferred and posted as Punjab Traffic DIG in place of Wains.

Farooqabad Punjab Constabulary Deputy Commandant DIG Khadim Husain Bhatti has been transferred and posted as Punjab Special Branch DIG (Security) in Iqbal's place.

Multan DIG (Administration) Syed Dilawar Abbas has been transferred after abolition of the post and posted as Farooqabad Punjab Constabulary Deputy Commandant in Bhatti's place.

Meanwhile, six DSPs and a woman ASP of the Lahore police have also been transferred.

According to the first notification, Inspector General of Punjab Police Javed Iqbal transferred Lahore Sadar SP (Operations) Zeeshan Asghar and directed him to report to the Police Headquarters Punjab.

According to another notification, Capital City Police Officer Malik Ahmad Raza Tahir transferred and posted a woman ASP and six DSPs.

ASP Amara Athar has been posted as Garden Town sub-divisional police officer vice DSP Rana Javed Iqbal who has been posted as Lower Mall SDPO. Township SDPO Ijaz Rasheed has been transferred and posted as DSP (Security) with former prime minister at Jati Umra while Mukhtar Shah has been posted in Rasheed's place.

Naulakha SDPO Muhammad Shoaib has been transferred and posted as Chuhng SDPO while DSP Malik Manzoor Ahmad has been posted in Shoaib's place.

Similarly, Malik Ejaz Ali has been posted Kahna SDPO vice DSP Riasat Ali Bajwa who was suspended and arrested in connection with the Nishtar Colony police encounter.

Meanwhile, DIG (Operations) Ghulam Mehmood Dogar also reshuffled five station house officers.

Johar Town SHO/Inspector Muhammad Attique Dogar has been transferred and posted as Baghbanpura SHO against an existing vacancy while Inspector Ehsan Elahi Zaheer has been posted in Dogar's place.

Inspector Nazir Opal has been posted as Chuhng SHO vice Ehsan Elahi Zaheer.

Ghalib Market SHO Qadeer Ali has been transferred and posted as Qila Gujjar Singh SHO vice Sub-Inspector Muhammad Shahid who has been directed to report to the Police Lines.
