ABBOTTABAD, June 22: Two members of a family from Lahore drowned in River Jhelum the other day at famous picnic spot of Kohala Kaneer Pul here. The incident occurred in the jurisdiction of Bakot police station.

The victims were identified as Haseeb, son of Younis, and his daughter, Zainab, 11, residents of Saman Abad, Lahore.

Police said Zainab fell in the river and her father, Haseeb, jumped into the water to save her life but both drowned.

On the report of Farzana, wife of Haseeb, police started search of the bodies, which could not be recovered till filing of this report.— Correspondent
