SUKKUR, June 28: Khalid Mahmood Khan, president of the Sukkur Chamber of Commerce and Industry and a renowned industrialist, died in Islamabad on Tuesday due to brain haemorrhage. He was 56.

His body was taken to his native town Hazro, district Attock, Punjab, for burial.

Mr Khan had remained deputy mayor of the Sukkur Municipal Corporation and also headed Red Crescent Hospital Sukkur which was later upgraded with his efforts.

He was elected president of the SCCI for seven terms unopposed and contributed to promotion of trade and industry in Sukkur region.

Leaders of trade bodies and social welfare organisations have condoled the untimely death of Mr Khan.
