SWABI, July 26: Local leaders of opposition political parties have alleged that the ruling Awami National Party (ANP) has failed to resolve people’s problems or initiate any big project in the district.

The activists of PML-N, Swabi Jamhoori Ittehad, PML-Q, JI and JUI-F claim that the ANP leaders have not taken any worthwhile steps for solution of people’s problems.

They said that the pledges made with the people of Swabi during elections had not been fulfilled yet by two provincial ministers, one advisor to the chief minister, three MPAs and two MNAs of the ANP from the district.

Both the JUI-F and JI leaders have rejected the ANP leaders’ claim about establishing a network of roads, including the Swabi-Jahangira road, Swabi-Topi road, Ghazi Barotha-Tarbela Dam road, Topi bypass and Topi-Tarbela Dam road and Yar Huussan- Adina road in the district.

Former minister of the JUIF Maulana Fazal Ali say that all these road projects, financed by the Asian Development Bank, were sanctioned in the tenure of Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) government.

JI district amir Saeed Zada said people were now openly challenging the pledges made by the ruling party leaders.
