QUETTA, Nov 2: Sardar Yaqoob Khan Nasar of Pakistan Muslim League-N has been elected to the National Assembly from NA-263 Loralai.

According to reports peaceful re-polling was held in the two poll stations of NA-263 Loralai on the orders of member Election Commission Justice Ahmed Khan Lashari of the Balochistan High Court, on Saturday.

The local administration deployed heavy contingent of law-enforcement agencies to avoid any untoward incident during the re-poling.

Sources said that around 400 votes were cast in both the polling stations. According to un-official result, Sardar Yaqoob Khan Nasar obtained 20,900 votes and his close rival Maulana Amir Zaman of Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal got 18,843 votes.

Two other candidates Mir Baz Khan Khetran and Sikander Hayat Jogezai boycotted the re-polling. Their votes were 14,724 and 12,210 respectively, and Tariq Mehmood Khetran got 7,222 votes.

Sardar Yaqoob Khan Nasar was the only PML-N candidate in Balochistan who could win his National Assembly seat from Loralai with the support of Pakhtoonkhawa Milli Awami Party (PMAP).
