KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain assured his full cooperation to Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani towards efforts for establishing peace in the country, especially Karachi, a statement issued by the MQM said.

Mr Hussain and Prime Minister Gilani discussed the situation of Karachi in a telephonic conversation.

The MQM statement said that talking to Prime Minister Gilani, Mr Hussain called for making joint efforts to establish tranquillity in the city.

Talking to the MQM chief, Prime Minister Gilani lauded the efforts of Mr Hussain for the cause of peace in the metropolis, the statement added.
