LARKANA, Aug 1: Police have arrested two men on the charge of swindling a landlord and being involved in printing fake currency notes, according to Superintendent of Police Mazhar Nawaz Shaikh.

He told a press conference at his office here on Monday that accused Ahmed Nawaz Lanjwani and Mohammed Janib Lanjwani, residents of Mirokhan, had been arrested from Larkana Railway Station.

Two dyes made of transparent glass and used in printing notes of different denominations had been recovered from their possession, the SSP said.

The accused had swindled a landlord, Abdul Rehman Kalhoro, asking him to give them money and promising to double the amount while repaying him, said Asad Shaikh, the SHO of the Dari police station where the case has been registered.

Initially, the victim paid them Rs10,000 and received RS20,000. Later, he gave them more money but as they delayed payment to him, suspicion arose in his mind and he informed the police, the SHO said.

As per police instructions, he called the cheaters to the railway station to get more money from where they were arrested, he said.
