MULTAN: Senior PML-N leader Javed Hashmi on Saturday proposed that Multan and Bahawalpur should be combined into a new province, DawnNews reported.

During a press conference Hashmi said that he stands firm on his statement that Punjab should be divided into four new provinces.

He said that formation of new provinces is the need of the hour however this decision cannot be made without the consent of PML-N.

Separately, Governor Punjab Sardar Latif Khosa said that new provinces will made under the governance of Pakistan People’s Party.

He further said that new provinces should not be made on linguistic grounds.
