
LAHORE: Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khan Khosa has urged all the political leaders including the Sharif brothers to develop a consensus over Seraiki province through consultation.
He said the Pakistan Muslim League-N should oppose the resolution on new province in the Punjab Assembly which was the proper plateform and not in Speaker's chamber.
The Governor said that millions of rupees were being spent over the construction of fly-overs in Lahore but South Punjab which was the agricultural belt of the province was being ignored causing frustration among the people of Rajanpur, Layyah and other districts of Seraiki belt.
He said that elimination of poverty, unemployment and frustration from Seraiki region was mission of the PPP government.
Expressing his astonishment over the ruefulness of Mian Nawaz Sharif about the Charter of Democracy (COD), Khosa said that COD was the first democratic agreement which was highly appreciated by the masses.
To a query, the Governor said that city administration was responsible of flooded roads due to heavy rains and the rulers should also visit the low lying areas of the city where people were facing immense problems.
