QUETTA, Sept 3: Activists of Hazara Democratic Party held a demonstration here on Saturday in protest against the suicide attack on Eid day in which 13 people were killed and many others injured.

A spokesman for banned outfit Lashkar-i-Jhangvi claimed responsibility for the attack.

The protesters gathered outside the press club and raised slogans against the government and law-enforcement agencies for their failure to protect citizens.

A party leader, Reza Wakil, said the suicide bomber targeted the Hazara community and killed innocent people.

He said the government and police were not interested in providing security to the Shia community and to take steps to stop attacks on them.

He called upon the government to direct departments concerned to make arrangements to ensure protection of the Hazara people.
