KOHAT, Sept 9: The social and political leaders have demanded of the authorities concerned to appoint local people in the newly constructed rural health centre (RHC) where people from other districts have been posted in violation of the rules.

The social and political leaders, including Sajid Khan, Inayatullah and Wahid Khan, warned the government and the Minister for Housing Amjid Afridi against appointing people from other districts in the RHC. They said it was the right of the local people to get jobs at the RHC.

They said the government had snatched the rights of the local people by ignoring them in appointments which would result in serious consequences.

They said the Executive District Officer, Health, Shad Ali Khattak in connivance with other elected people had appointed X-ray technician, laboratory technician and dental technician from other parts.

PHYSICAL REMAND:

An anti-terrorism court judge on Friday sent an accused into police custody on a four-day physical remand who had allegedly killed a policeman of the rider squad and injured another.

The accused, Shireen Khan, was arrested from Shahpur area during a raid at a house, who along with other accomplices, had killed constable Bashir Khan and injured another constable Tanveer Ahmed on August 21.

The investigators said they had not yet nabbed the main accused and hoped that the arrested one would divulge the names of his accomplices.

They said the attackers belonged to a notorious group of criminals operating in the jurisdiction of the mills Chowki of the Jarma police station.

UPLIFT SCHEMES:

Provincial Housing Minister Amjid Khan Afridi on Friday approved Rs80 million for construction of Eidgah in Taulanj and Gumbat-Talanj road. He announced that gas supply to Kot village will be started next month.

Addressing a ceremony at Togh Bala, the minister also approved a primary school and two power transformers for Taulanj village.
