MARDAN, Sept 13: Controller (Examinations) Mardan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Farmanullah Khan on Tuesday accused the Pakhtun Student Federation (PkSF) workers of harassing him.

Farmanullah told Dawn that around 20 armed members of PkSF, the student wing of Awami National Party, entered his office and pressed for an illegal entry to the matriculation examination list, which had already been finalised.

He said the board was bound by the rules not to accept the students' applications for sitting the examinations a month before their commencement.

The controller said since the matriculation examination was eight days away, he turned down the request.

He said he rejected another 'illegal' demand of the PkSF workers for the mention of 11 'grace marks' in a student's detailed mark sheet of matriculation examinations.

Mr Farmanullah said his refusal to accept their demands angered PkSF workers led by Bilal Bakhsh, Hassan Siyab and Shahid, who threatened to kill him before leaving the office. He said he was finding it hard to efficiently discharge his duties under the current 'intimidating' conditions.

“Pakhtun Student Federation activists have been bullying me and interfering in board affairs for over a year,” he said.

The controller later reported the incident to Sheikh Maltoon Town Police Station, which registered an FIR against Bilal Bakhsh, Hassan Siyab and Shahid.
